SURVIVORS
MENTORING SURVIVORS
Acquired
brain injury survivors who have a skill or talent they wish
to share become mentors to other ABI survivors. Mentors
may work one-to-one with an individual participant or teach
a group.
TRAINING
FOR PROFESSIONALS
Because
ABI is a new disability, healthcare workers have had little
experience working with survivors. The Program Director
offers individual consultations to social service and healthcare
providers. The staff makes educational presentations to
other agencies to promote understanding of the unique characteristics
and critical needs of this expanding disability population.
Our
community of volunteers is rich and growing. Please consider
joining us by helping in the garden, in our art studio,
with office support, or in any of our classes.
- Members
of the community are welcome to volunteer in our classes
and are an integral part of our program.
