Dear Friend,
It is only five days since the MBIN 25th Anniversary Celebration event was held at the Ross Valley Masonic Hall. As I write to you today, I find myself drifting back to memories of that amazing night.
I reminisce about the attendee's who were so enjoyable to talk with; the guest speakers who made the evening even more special; the magical sounds of the Ives Quartet; the incredible food; the abundance of silent auction items; and the generosity of the crowd offering donations to the Karen G. Schurig Scholarship Fund. And of course, the touching video that brought tears to my eyes, created and donated by Distinctive Sofa Productions.
I am filled with gratitude for the incredible generosity of so many that made this night a success. I extend a heartfelt thank you to all the guests that evening, to Gary Ragghianti for his warmth and humor as the event's Emcee, and to the Ives Quartet for sharing their incredible musical gifts. Thank you to Joan Ryan, who so eloquently shared her experience as a mother whose son is living with a Traumatic Brain Injury. All the volunteers, including the 25th anniversary event committee, deserve high praise for their dedication and talent. Without them, this event would not have been possible. Thank you!
A very special thank you to all the event sponsors and the silent auction donors for the abundance of gifts they offered this event. To Supervisor Hal Brown, I say thank you for your many years of support to MBIN and for being the Honorary Chair of this special event honoring Karen Schurig and 25 years of passionate service to the community. And, I thank the staff of MBIN, who demonstrate dedication each day to provide high quality service to those who need MBIN and for going above and beyond to contribute to the success of this event.
Lastly, I thank the guests who donated so generously to the Karen G. Schurig Scholarship Fund. The Fund-the-Need portion of the evening raised over $20,000 and aides MBIN to continue offering much needed services in our community to those living with a brain injury and their families.
All of us here at MBIN feel truly blessed to be part of this amazing community and thank everyone who supports our success in this 25th year of service.
Warmly,
Patricia Gill, M.S.
